We are exceptionally grateful for the support of our weekly customers throughout downtown Wilmington who have become regular visitors for simple smiles at the workplace. Adding to the misfortune is the unrealized potential from the ingenuity of having the only open air cooler of its kind in the US as a feature of the shop.

We will concentrate our immediate efforts in creating our exhibit at The 2009 Philadelphia Flower Show as the only major floral exhibitor from Delaware; and then on building our wedding & event business.

Our 2009 ten year anniversary is a proud accomplishment for Celebrations Design Group. It would be unsound business practice to compromise that success with a detrimental satellite. What a hardship to end this endeavor.  

Several factors influenced the outcome:

• The senior management at DuPont Corporate Real Estate denied our request to re-negotiate the lease.

• We lost a vital source of revenue when Hotel personnel withdrew services for weekly flowers.

• The projection was that our wedding business in the Gold Ballroom would grow with our presence when, in fact, it decreased.

• With such bleak sales projections in this economy, the immense loss that was incurred for the past 2 years can no longer be absorbed.

• Even the infusion a business stabilization loan program from President Obama’s stimulus package through the SBA comes too late.

• Consideration that vehicles need to be replaced within the year since they are all 8 years old or more, now. With numbers so out of proportion, we will be unable to secure bank loans. We need a fleet of dependable transportation to deliver our weddings & events.
